Soy Ginger Sauce
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 cup rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger
- 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
- 1 tablespoon minced fresh chives
- 1 tablespoon minced fresh cilantro stems
- 1/2 tablespoon chili oil
- Juice of 1/4 lime
- Salt, to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Method
- In a medium pot, combine the soy sauce, vinegar, ginger, sesame oil, sesame seeds, chives, cilantro stems, chili oil, lime juice, 1 tablespoon water, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
- Set the pot over medium-low heat.
- Increase the heat to high and right when you start to see bubbles (around 6 to 8 minutes), take the pot off the heat.
- Let cool before using. Yield should be 1 1/4 cups
- Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
